Chrissy Pursell Adolf is a worship leader and pianist. Having degrees in classical Piano Study from Auburn University and a dual Masters in Performance and Pedagogy from Samford University, she is founder of the Christine Adolf Piano Studio, which has operated out of her home for the past decade. She has had the privilege of working with students of all ages, including adults. Chrissy is passionate about using her private teaching as not just a platform to develop musical excellence, but also to create safety through relational intentionality with her students and their families. She firmly believes that her students perform best when they trust that they are known and seen for their individual strengths and she prizes herself in creating a unique pathway of study for each student. Equally present in passion and vocation is Chrissy’s presence as a worship leader for the local church as well as special events and retreats across the state. Having grown up in a family of six children and three sisters, they all sang together from a young age, and this quickly shaped Chrissy’s desire to lead, arrange, and plan music programs and events. Although her classical music study began at age 5, she has been playing by ear and singing as long as she can remember. She has lead worship at various churches over the years in front of as well as behind a keyboard and currently serves in a local church as their director of choirs and worship services. Chrissy is humbled by having a place of leadership in leading others before the throne of the Lord and considers it her highest joy to experience and walk with others into God’s presence. Chrissy is married to her best friend Alex Adolf and together they have one 2.5 year old son David Alexander. Although Chrissy had worked with children for years, she never felt the passion and calling to their formation until having one of her own. She considers this her greatest calling, above any position or stage, to walk with her son as well as other children into their knowing of, and callings by God. As music is a Universal language, she feels very strongly about using it in this capacity. Although music plays a large role in Chrissy’s life, she is also very passionate about fitness and diabetes awareness. She is an avid runner and member of a local Crossfit gym. (The fitness community is actually what brought her to ACC with her family!) She has been a Type 1 diabetic since she was 8 months old, and walked with her son David as he was diagnosed at only 2 months of age. Her earlier years were filled with advocacy, fundraising, and lobbying for this disease. She now is stepping back into community support and advocacy when she can! Don’t let the fair skin fool you, she loves the outdoors and an amazing view. She and her husband love opening their home and table to college students as well as their community. They consider it an honor to be a part of and represent ACC and the name of Jesus.
