Katie Booher

Katie brings over 20 years of classroom experience to ACC Academy. She has taught kindergarten for the past 12 years, but also has experience in 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades. Katie has been privileged to teach in both public and private settings and brings unique and varied experiences with her to ACC Academy. Some of these include teaching students with special needs, designing and implementing a literacy-rich curriculum, and establishing strong, faith-based relationships with students and families.

Katie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Auburn University, a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from Mercer University, and a Reading Endorsement from the University of North Georgia. Katie views each new school year as an opportunity to influence, inspire, and serve her students and their families. She feels strongly that God created her to teach, and she cannot imagine doing anything else!

Katie enjoys teaching kindergarten because of the incredible growth that she gets to witness in the lives of her students. While she loves teaching reading, writing and math, she gets most excited about the spiritual, social, and emotional development that she sees as the school year progresses. Katie is passionate about establishing a positive classroom culture, helping her students grow in Godly character, and building strong relationships with both students and their families. She enjoys sharing her love of great children’s literature with her kindergarten students and finds it so exciting when they grow to love reading as well. Katie is thrilled to have the opportunity to teach at ACC Academy and cannot wait to align her love of teaching with her desire to honor and serve God.

Katie has been married to Chris for over 30 years, and together they have 2 young adult daughters, as well as 2 adorable spaniels. Katie and Chris, along with their girls, have been part of ACC since it began, and have been abundantly blessed to watch God grow His church in incredible ways. In her spare time, Katie enjoys cooking, camping, being outdoors and spending time with family and friends. She especially loves it when all four of those activities come together at once!
