Read: Acts 15:36-16:5; 1 Corinthians 9:19-23

  1. How do you discern whether your conviction comes from your preference or the purpose of the church?
  2. How can you prevent your preference from becoming a conviction?
  3. What does it look like to illuminate tension in a healthy way?
  4. Read: 1 Corinthians 9:19-23. Where is the Lord asking you to set aside your preferences in order to live out the shared purpose of the gospel?
  5. In your current season, which of the three points (reconcile, realign, and run together) do you need to step in to?
  6. Challenge: Discuss “Shared purpose overshadows our personal preference.” What is the shared purpose of your community group? Pray about where you can serve as a group for Be the Church.
